About Us
Who we are
Gulabi Zameen: The Pink Earth Initiative is a youth-led platform which aims to create a space alongside queer and trans individuals and communities and explore the intersection of climate and gender and its impact on non binary mental and physical health. We collaborate with communities, youth, activists, collectives, and NGOs in different regions to document realities, bring forth important narratives from diverse geographical and socio-political regions, create shared learning experiences, and visualize more inclusive and sustainable futures for all.
Our Hope
The mainstream conversations around climate justice have been shaped by caste, class, gender, and ethnicities. While these lenses have helped us view vital insights, they've often left out queer and trans experiences, reinforcing binaries and leaving little room for those who live beyond them. Climate and gender are not footnotes in research or action plans; they are essential lenses through which we must view life, growth and justice. Hence, our hope is to connect with these voices, and reimagine environmental justice through a queer and trans-inclusive lens, and work toward an ecologically equitable future for all.
Passion with a Plan: Passion alone cannot stand, sustainable change requires organization, reflection, and collective direction. We aim to channel our shared urgency into structured, community-rooted efforts that are as intentional as they are bold.
